European Judicial Network Meeting

The CNUE participated in the 14th annual meeting of the European Judicial Network (EJN) in civil ans commercial matters held in Brussels on 21-22 January 2016. The EJN is a network of contact points (representatives designated by the Member States, liaison magistrates, judicial and administrative authorities, professional bodies such as the CNUE) whose aim is to improve, simplify and accelerate judicial cooperation between the Member States in civil and commercial matters.

On this occasion, the European Commission presented its 2016 priorities in civil justice matters to the participants: proposal for revision of the Brussels IIa regulation planned for spring, enhanced cooperation for the regulations on matrimonial property regimes and registered partnerships, EU participation in the Hague Convention on the recognition of judgments, evaluation of progress of the mediation directive, proposals for directives in contract law, adoption of the regulation on the acceptance of public documents in the first half of 2016.

Furthermore, the EJN is developing a citizen’s guide on the application of the successions regulation, the CNUE being involved in this work.
