As part of its Notaries for Europe – Europe for Notaries training programme, the Notaries of Europe are holding a major conference in Luxembourg on 25 October 2013. 250 participants from the notariat, academia and the political arena are expected to attend.
The Council and the European Commission have called upon the CNUE to make the conference the flagship event of the European Day of Civil Justice. This day is celebrated around the 25 October of each year. Its aim is to bring justice closer to citizens, to inform them of their rights and promote the work of the European Commission and the Council of Europe in civil justice matters through information sessions.
The Luxembourg event has two parts, one intended for citizens, the other for notaries. Information stands will be in place during the conference, with notaries available to answer citizens’ practical questions.
The working sessions during the conference itself will focus mainly on the European regulation on international successions and on the training programme, giving an overview of the various seminars that have already been held.
The Vice-President of the European Commission, Ms Viviane Reding, the Minister of Justice of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Ms Octavie Modert, and a high representative of the Council of Europe will speak during the opening session.
Further information and the full programme are available at www.conference-notaire-luxembourg.lu (access to the conference available for notaries and candidate notaries only).
