Alongside the President of the Council of European Geodetic Surveyors (CLGE), Mr Maurice Barbieri, and Mr Michel Merlotti, representing the International Union of Notaries, Mr Paolo Pasqualis, CNUE President, signed a cooperation agreement for closer professional ties between these organisations .
The agreement was signed on the occasion of the CLGE General Assembly, held in Riga on 23 and 24 September 2016. Through this convention, notaries and surveyors underline the need for a “trustworthy immovable property system as a foundation of modern society”. Such a system requires a “structural guarantee of the state provided through public registers and based on clear regulations”. The notaries and surveyors also insist on the joint efforts necessary in terms of professional and continuous training.
Finally, the organisations support the creation of a common cooperation framework at national, European and world level and will work in the current months to define a roadmap to guide future work.
