By unanimous decision of the General Assembly at its meeting in Brussels on 9 December 2016, the CNUE now welcomes the Montenegrin notariat as observer member. This notariat was represented at the meeting by its President, Mr Branislav Vukićević, accompanied by the Vice-President, Mr Darko Ćurić, and the Ambassador of Montenegro to the European Union, Mr Bojan Sarkic.

The Montenegrin notariat is one of the youngest notariats in Europe. It was introduced in Montenegro’s legal system in 2011. The Montenegrin notariat has been a member of the International Union of Notaries since 2013. The country currently has 45 notaries and notarial offices, which deal with real estate transactions, succession procedures and the legalisation and certification of signatures and documents.
