From January 2013 the Notarial Centre for European Law (better known as ACENODE), in cooperation with Jean Moulin University Lyon III and the Lyon CFPN, will offer a university diploma in International Notarial Law.
ACENODE's progamme is primarily aimed at notaries, notarial staff and law students. Topics covered will range from the study of the techniques and reasoning of private international law and European Union law to international family, company and real estate law. The teaching team will consist of some of the most esteemed academics from France and elsewhere, as well as legal practitioners, specialising in European law and private international law.
This new diploma was officially announced in Lyon on 15 November 2012. On this occasion, CNUE Secretary General Clarisse Martin expressed the European notariat's support for the initiative, highlighting the fact that "a thorough understanding of private international law and European Union law has become an essential requirement for notaries in their daily work."
